After his adventures in Japan and Canada, Logan returns to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning as the X-Men prepare a send-off for Bobby Drake, who is taking a leave of absense to be with his parents. During the gathering, a mysterious box arrives from Landau, Luckman and Lake for Logan's safekeeping. Later, at various locales, Logan reflects on recent events.The next day, during a Danger Room workout, Wolverine encounters a slightly familiar horned, skull-faced entity that offers him a restored Mariko in exchange for a favor. Wolverine defeats the being with its own sword, then Stick appears, offering words of wisdom.Later, Logan informs Sam Guthrie of his intention to move into the city.
